Through My Eyes: Jake Kuzyk

My first trip this year was to Bear Mountain in December. I rode with Joe Sexton most of the time we were there. Here Joe got his hands on our buddy Castros' DJ equipment. Lookin' pretty fresh.

This photo is from Bear as well. This is Castro throwing up a signature melon grab. He rolls no highbacks so his melons tend to look pretty crispy like this one. Castro also builds the parks at Bear.

This was December in Denver, Colorado. Me and Jed cruised out there early to start filming for his Real Snow part. Pokin' up a mean tall front crooks staredown.

Also in Denver, this was the thing Jed noseslid off the roof in his Real Snow part. We shot this Tony Hawk Pro Skater Underground shout-out with the belt loop board carrier.

Quebec in January now. Digging out the famous red ledge for the first time that year. You're welcome, every other snowboarder. At least it seems like everyone hit that thing this year. Me and Jed are obviously working pretty hard in this one…

We did a trip to Ottawa. Hometown of Max Honneger, the funniest guy I know. He's a lifelong friend and a Canadian legend. I snapped my board, we had a photoshoot.

My roommate went snowboarding one day with me up at Mount Seymour in Vancouver. He hadn't been since he was like, 14. It was pretty rad. He's pretty insane at skateboarding so he really wanted to get up on some shit. We got him here boardsliding the little rail.

This was a pretty amazing sunset in Quebec City with Joe Carlino, Bennee and Jed. That was a fun trip. The light in Quebec is always pretty crisp.

Jed tried on some of Bennee's clothes. Trap shit.

We were at a spot in Quebec and it was Valentine's day, so Jed figured he'd let all dem ladies know what's good.

Helsinki in February was really rad. This may have been the hardest I laughed all winter. Jed with a True Love shout-out stair session.

Two other Darkside Videograss crews were in Helsinki when we were there. We all stayed at the same hotel so at nighttime things would get pretty hilarious. Here drunk Nick got naked and jumped out the window two stories into a snowbank.

Laurent, no stranger to the beers would entertain us all night with his shirtless banter. Bob Plumb just figured he would get in the mix.

At this one spot these three little Finnish dudes showed some interest so we taught them how to ride down the path for a while. This photo with the three of them is great. It's Jed's, Harrison Gordon's and Chris Carr's boards. Mini shreds.
