Andreas Wiig and Save The Children Foundation

Norway's snowboard maverick Andreas Wiig has been dominating the snow circuit with a recent ESPY nomination for Best Male Action Sports Athlete, two Gold medals at the Winter X Games and a first place at the Van's Cup.

But Wiig's other focus has been continuing the fight against poverty by giving back to communities and people who are less fortunate than himself. Andreas continues to be a long-term supporter of Save the Children, the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world.

Save the Children is recognized for their work in bringing aid to the heart of communities in need to directly help the children and families involved in the program. Andreas has been involved with the SOS Children's Villages where he acts as a "godfather" to two kids in Africa in addition to helping the larger village where these children subside.

"I like the concept because Save the Children shares with you exactly how your support effects these children and how you are making a big difference in their lives," said Wiig.

Andreas continues to spread the word on how to raise funds to support this organization and urges others to get involved.
