New obstacles at Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park

At Kitzsteinhorn, terrain for freestylers on snowboards and twin tips will be once again expanded. After riders stormed the three parks last season even more obstacles will await the riders at DC Central Park, Roxy Glacier Park and the Easy Park starting in October. International events like the Roxy Chicken Jam and the Snowpark Tour finals will also take place on the 30,000 square metre area at Europasport-Region Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria.

Similar to last year the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park will be designed and built by Mellow Constructions from Innsbruck, Austria. Thomas "Mellow" Marsh and his shaper team will be the creators of Glacier Park, Central Park and Easy Park.

"The Kitzsteinhorn offers everything that freestylers and freeriders want," Marsh said about the "Three parks for all skills, plus endless freeride runs."

Starting in October riders can hit jumps and rails on the Roxy Glacier Park at 2,900 meters above sea level. Up to 23 obstacles (11 jumps, 12 rails & boxes) will be built on the 250-meter-long area.

At the DC Central Park near Sonnenkarbahn, 2,600 meters above sea level, up to five lines with 30 obstacles will be built by the end of November. With 15 different jumps and 15 varied rails and boxes the Central Park will sport everything intermediates and pros want. The new highlights are a 20-meter fun box, a 15-meter-long and 3-meter-wide A box, an elephant rail, a new down rail and a park cliff. In addition, slopestyle beginners can practice first tricks at the Easy Park on its eight jumps and four rails.

From October 1, 2007, the new website http://snowpark.kitzsteinhorn.at/ will supply riders with news about the park's current state, as well as offer interactive maps of the parks with facts and pictures of the obstacles delivered directly by the shapers.
