Quiksilver's Das Rail returns to ISPO

After the success of last year's kick off event, Europe's hardest rail event starts into its second round. The best rail riders in the world are invited to battle for 10.000 € prize money. To make sure the set-up is ideal more than 100 m³ of snow will be produced and shaped right in front of the historic facade of Munich's top contemporary art museum, 'Haus der Kunst', in downtown Munich. And this unique event is open to the public free of charge.

During ispo winter 08, the spotlights are set again on Haus der Kunst : Welcome to Quiksilver - DAS RAIL presented by ispo.

ispo as the world's biggest sport and sports lifestyle trade fair and Quiksilver - the leading boardsports company - joined forces to create  a unique and top class snowboard rail event:

The „Haus der Kunst" with its historic facade and a 27 step cast-iron hand rail will serve as the perfect stage for the next generation of rail riding talent to compete for 10000 € prize money.

15 riders from 10 nations will start in the jam-format contest, and battle for the crown to see who dominates Das Rail:

The confirmed rider list includes:  Fredrik Austbo (NOR), Max Legend (CAN), Hans Ã...hlund (SWE), Nate Bozung (USA), Emeric Front (FRA), Kareem El- Rafie (SWE), Dimitri Fesenko (RUS), Sami Sarenpää (FIN), Eiki Helgasson (IS), Tonton Holland (CH), Cheryl Maas (NL), Lucas Magoon (USA), Antti `Naku` Piirainen (FIN), Gulli Gudmundsson (IS), & Janne Heiskanen (FIN).

All riders are well known from international snowboard movie productions such as: „Purple Yeahh" of Yeahh! Productions, "Green" of MMP Productions, the Rome team-video „Any Means" as well as „Storbis/07", „Paradox", „Up in the Sky" and „First Chair, Last Call". Enjoy your video heroes live on January 27th 2008.

Alongside the original „Haus der Kunst" handrail an additional boxline will be placed parallel and provide optional extra lines for innovative styling.

The set-up is completely unique: a neo classic architecture with marble columns, a huge terrace and a 11m iron handrail make the perfect setting for this 2008 top European rail event.

The riders will start into the show at 6.30 pm with the first jam session, which will also serve as qualification for the super final starting at 9.30 pm.

From 8.30 on all riders will once again have the opportunity to session the obstacles during an additional cash-money jam.

The speaker and crowd will be the judge, and for every trick landed and style stuck the rider will get cash.

As entrance is free, it is highly recommended to show up on time and bring  warm clothes - the event will take place outdoors and in any weather.

From 10.00 pm on all spectators are invited to party with Quiksilver, the Onboard magazine and all riders at nearby P1 just until sunrise.

Entry is free, space limited.
