Victor de Le Rue Blog: Pleasure Jam

We arrived 4 days before the contest with the other Victor to train a little bit, but unfortunately the weather went pretty bad and we couldn’t ride. The day right before the qualifications was nice and all the riders from the contest were there (mainly Scandinavian killers, Swiss, and also Austrian guys). I didn’t know this, but all the team was there, it was a super nice surprise to see Janne, Elias, Mathias and Dani again.


First day: The weather for the qualifications was kind of weird, changing every 5 minutes, and the speed for the jumps was not enough! We were 92 riders and 15 made it to the final. Unfortunately my team-mates didn’t make it because of these difficult and strange conditions.

Second day: They added on those 15 invited riders (including Elias). During the hour of training I slammed on a jump and hit my head pretty bad, I couldn’t see properly for half an hour so I quitted trainings. We had 2 runs, best counted. I asked the organization and they let me rest for a bit so my view could come back normally. Elias and I made it threw the super final: we were only 8 left.

I finished 5th. Elias killed it with 2 sick runs: cab 9 to front 1080 and 2nd run with front 720 to an amazing back 1080 double cork!

As he deserved it, he won the competition. That doesn’t seem to be enough for him because he also won the best trick with his perfect double cork so a trip for 3 weeks in Bali is waiting for him!!!!!
