ADT LOG: Mad About Magazines

So I had a chance to cut through Palais de Tokyo before I left Paris. I checked out the Metamorphosis exhibition which kinda blew me away, but I couldn't leave without blasting some cheddar on some mags. I have barely opened the other magazines yet but I need to let y'all know about the new IdN issue. It's called Mad About Magazines, which I have been for years.

They could be the pinnacle of mags themselves but they went and made an issue about the raddest mags going around right now. They interviewed all the creators and the running theme is the fact that everyone knows that the print industry is dePRESSed right now but this is only forcing magazines to step up the graphic design to survive in times of such meager rations. You can't just get away with pushing out some horse shit content pages to fill in the spaces in between the advertisements anymore. Mags producing such muck are a waste of time, money, and resources and will be cut short.

The issue features a bunch of mags that have pushed the layout, content, medium, writing, paper and concept to the next level as platform to present their subject and passions. This is what TAG and the team have been doing with the print mags at Method for snowboarding. So go out and buy a Method, buy an iDN (it's pretty hard to find, try art/design type book stores). They are the kind of mags that you carry around with such great care and lose sleep if you crease the cover because you want to protect what is hiding inside. Who would have thought some ink and paper could create so much stoke! You, the customers, will have the final word on the fate of print. In the meanwhile, creative minds will continue to pour every last drop of genius into their publications to enrich the scene and subject they cover.

Check out some pages from the issue....and I haven't even checked out the DVD yet!
