In the upcoming winter season the famous, transnational contest-series for snowboarders and freeskiers invites riders from all over Europe to five totally different tour stops and a terrific end-of-tour-party. Besides the highly competitive overall victory of the tour, the participants will again ride for the much sought-after global ranking points of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour. The preparations for the contest-series are currently running at full speed and you can be looking forward to a tour with a cozy atmosphere and a lot of action. Corresponding to the Wir Schanzen-tradition, every single event will offer very special highlights and an own flair to the riders as well as to the public. The Suzuki Wir Schanzen 2009 presented by Quiksilver already starts on December 13th with the Stubai Jam into the new season. Because of the reliable snow conditions at the Stubai glacier, the organizers decided to make the only event on the south side of the
Alps the opening event of the tour. A completely new Schneestern-park as well as a combination of three jumps in line will provide lots of joy to the riders and motivate them to rigorous moves. At the after party in Innsbruck the wheels of steel will be rotating until dawn. On January 24th, Nesselwang will become the stage for The Barbecue. The sportive height of the tour annually attracts riders from all over Europe and spectators galore. The contest takes place at the new O'Neill Alpspitzpark in Nesselwang for the first time, where Schneestern parks & more will realize a top-class setup. As always, The Barbecue 2009 again offers live-sound at its finest and a big barbecue. The Iron Night 2009, an absolute cult-contest and an event from riders for riders, takes place on February 14th at the Kleinwalsertal. The only night-event of the tour annually offers snowboarding and freeskiing on a very high level, a great atmosphere and a hilarious party. The Iron Night 2009 will again become a meeting point for the freestylescene
from all over Europe, when the Crystal Ground - Snowpark Kleinwalsertal presents itself with a specially designed Iron Night setup and famous DJ's make the crowd freak out at the after party. Also the legendary best-trick-contest on a very special and challenging obstacle subsequent to the regular contest must not miss out. The fourth event of the tour will be the Big Bäng Bolsterläng on March 14th in Bolsterlang. Except the name everything here remains the same. An attractive, versatile setup at the Hörnerbahn, a cozy atmosphere and great people are the ingredients that make this event so special. The last sportive event of the tour will this time be the Night On Snow on 4th of April in Kempten. For the first time this crowd puller takes place at the very city centre of Kempten and is going to impress the public with massive Ski-, Board-, BMX- and Motocross-Action. Skilled international riders will not miss out this last chance to gain the overall-victory of the tour. Furthermore famous music-acts will provide an awesome
atmosphere at this fifth tour stop. On April 17th, the Suzuki Wir Schanzen 2009 presented by Quiksilver will find its end in the legendary end-of-tour-party at the Parktheater Kempten. Here the winners of the tour will be honoured and the premiere of the tour video will be celebrated. Afterwards top-DJ's will be spinning until the next morning. You can be looking forward to what the organizers still come up with for the several tour stops. Already now it is clear that it is going to be an unforgettable tour with lots of great moments.
