Girl's snowboard camp in Austria

Monday November 20 2006

BoardnLodge.com and the Powderroom.net are holding their first all-girl snowboard camp in March 2007.

The week offers female snowboarders of all levels the chance to pick up new skills, check out the Austrian resort of Saalbach, test out some of next season's snowboard gear and make some new riding friends.

The week-long camp will hit Saalbach from March 24 to 31 2007. There'll be a unique mix of international professional snowboarders and experienced, qualified coaches to help campers make the most of their week. Whether you want to pick up some new park or freeride skills or fine tune your technique, you'll get the chance to achieve your goals in a fun, supportive all-girl environment.

Guests will stay at BoardnLodge's swanky Mikela Lodge. The newly refurbished pad offers ride-to-the-door access, nine bathrooms, sauna and heated kit room. Visitors needn't lift a finger all week as breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and drinks are all laid on by the lodge hosts.

Saalbach can be reached from the UK by flying to Saltzburg or Munich. It rarely has lift queues and boasts two terrain parks and tons of untouched backcountry. The camp is backed by the resort so they'll be helping the campers and coaches get the park set-up they want it - nice!

The week costs £580. That includes a six-day all areas lift pass, six days of coaching and guiding, airport transfers to and from Salzburg or Munich, half-board accommodation and a chance to demo Burton's 07/8 kit for girls. There will also be many chances to try out the area's après scene!

Boardnlodge have been offering high-quality winter sports holidays in the Alps since 1999. For this event, they're joining forces with powderroom.net - the world's leading source of news, features and information for female snowboarders.
