Swatch Snowpark Sölden: Funkiest Freestyle in Austria

Facing threatening warm-weather days before Christmas Eve, QParks Parkdesigner Rudi Wyhlidal and his team had serious doubts if their exhausting efforts were worth it, as they ran in danger of loosing everything again. They really put their sweat and soul for putting up one of the best freestyle snowparks in Europe. Now, the result is a real ‘snow-wonderland’ that without a doubt proves that they have made everything rightly and the Swatch Snowpark Sölden stands as one of the first parks in Austria in awesome shape!

Despite the extremely warm and wet weather conditions, the opening of the Swatch Snowpark Sölden was a huge success and the park really goes off like a rocket! By the help of massive snowmaking, the perfect location and the tremendous efforts of our team, almost the entire set-up has been realized, which only a handful of snowparks in Austria can claim.

The terrific set-up already consists of the 3 kickers of the beginner/medium double-line, the waves with an up&down box, a rainbow, a buttertable, a down-and-up-box, an a-frame box, a tractor tire and a rainbowbox and buttertable for beginners. On top of it, from today on, folks can go nuts on a 12m down- and kinked-rail. The preparations for the big kicker are in full swing and the Swatch Snowpark Sölden is looking forward to an awesome year 2010!

On top of that, QParks has prepared some special gifts for the Sölden-riders. Huge investments were made by the Bergbahnen Sölden and so a whole bunch of new obstacles have been bought for this season and now stand ready for being part of the massive set-up 2010! Amongst others, a brand-new Up/Down-Butterbox, an extravagant Softbow-Butterbox and a Flat-/Down-Rail will tune up the this year’s set-up. Also, the youngest among us have every right to cheer: A 3m Up/Down-Box as well as a 3m Rainbow especially for kids will be installed. HOWEVER, according to parkdesigner Rudi Wyhlidal, the absolute highlights will be an enormous special obstacle, an exorbitant Elefantbox by our new sponsor Oakley and a 3m Stiffy Rocketrail.

But not only rail-wise the season 2009/10 will become awesome. As a special treat for the Sölden shredders, a new and challenging 3 kickerline will push the park! The third kicker will find its place exactly where the wallride had been the last seasons. Certainly, the Swatch Shoot my Ride will be an integral part of the Swatch Snowpark, so you can eternalize your most stylish tricks and moves on picture!
