An Eastern star is about to rise on the global shredosphere. TURN is an all-Russian movie showcasing the beauty of the country and the talent of its inhabitants. And there is plenty of both to be found on this massive chunk of soil some refer to as Mother Russia.
One of the most outstanding places to ride in Russia is Kamchatka, at very end of the Eurasian Continent - a mountainous moonscape of intriguing and gruff beauty at the mercy of bitter cold winters and howling winds. Separated by the Bering Sea, Kamchatka is Alaska's shy little brother who gets all the girls once he grows up.
The main TURN movie crew dwelling in Kamchatka consisted of up-and-coming rippers Andrey Moskvin, Artem Teimurov, Evgeniy Joon Ivanov, Yura Chemodurov, and Artem Sheldovitskiy. As these boys spent a good chunk of their season in the far Northeast they stumbled over Terje Haakonsen and the BALANCE movie crew and decided to film together for a day in an epic international rip-fest right in the middle of nowhere.
„A Russian, a Norwegian and an American meet in the middle of nowhere..“ What sounds like the start of a bad joke turned out to become one of last season's most epic sessions. Terje, Travis Rice, DCP, and a few more explorers from all around the world all came together at Snow Valley - a refuge built by Russian Snowboarders Maxim Balakovskiy and Sasha Moroz to host shredders from all around the world and introduce them to the countless possibilites of riding Kamchatka and, of course, its intriguing beauty..
