Milton Keynes - Saturday 10th October
Following a hectic day at Milton Keynes with the ‘Big Bang’ event during the day, this was arguably the most highly anticipated event this summer.
As usual the riding went off at 7pm – an all out jam session heated up with riders (male & female) throwing down steezy tricks from the word GO. The ‘FBBB School of steez’ was in full swing!
The girls where also well represented, with Lyndsey Ashdown, Emily Williams, Alice Blake and Emily Park pushing as hard as any of the boys. The highlight for the ladies came from Katie Omerod with her super smooth back 3’s & 5’s. Good work!
The first couple of hours flashed by with super tweaked out grabs & shiftys in which the judges just couldn’t keep up with! Riders were killing the park! Some serious steez was being oozed all over the place, especially over the relentless can.
Sparrow Knox was impressing seriously with front 7’s, cab 5’s, shifty shifty front 1’s and super nice front boards. James Carr was tweaking so hard his tongue was almost falling out! Ross Needham nearly landed a couple of attempts at back 9’s but the icy landing prevented it this time round! Unlucky dude!
Rowan Biddiscombe was throwing sick corked front 5 Japans, along with badass back rodeo 5’s and sweet nose press bk 1 outs which should have crowned him with trick of the night on the kickers but Sparrow just got the edge with his super sweet & steezy Shifty delayed cab 5. Off the chain!
Jonny Russell nailed the best rail trick of the night on the 5 metre gaspipe with a slick as f*** bk 3 to 5-0 on and cab 3 out. “Urggggghhh son” is the only way you can describe it! Matt Higson was also killin it with just about every combo and tap you can think of on the rails.
The unsponsored rider of the night went to Ben Rumney who picked up a ‘Ride’ snowboard and bindings set up. Under 16 unsponsored rookie of the night went to Josh Ogden who bagged a £200 voucher by Bonfire & Salomon.
The FBBB music team went that step further for this years final by featuring beat box champion ‘Reeps one’ and DMC champion ‘Matman’ heading up a line up of sick DJ’s and beatboxers. Tipped of nicely with DJ, beatbox and production workshops inside the café area.
The nights live art from Two-Pence, GEEE87 and Ventz went down a treat, along with pop up stands by the ‘Ugly kids club’, ‘Oh-Death’ and ‘Girl Racer’.
Another super fun night and an event that is clearly getting better & better….what next?
