SEVEN-UP Online Premiere

Random Bastards proudly presents their seventh snowboard film! SEVEN-UP is the result of another full year's hard work, road tripping world-wide and late night mayhem. From cities to mountains, rails to backcountry and HD to 16mm (thanks to the Pirates!) sprinkled with hypnotic visuals, full-frontal nudity and a killer soundtrack, here's Sweden's contribution to the ever so big 2010 snowboard ziplock.

SEVEN-UP
is produced by Umeå based Random Bastards. Directed, filmed and edited by Kristofer "Kuske" Fahlgren. Executive producer: Eric Hörstedt. Shredding Stunts are provided by Joakim Rasmussen, Eric Johansson, Klas Beyer, Fredrik Rasmussen, Isak Björnström, Viktor Björnström, Kalle Ohlson, Rolf Nylinder, Erik Karlsson, The Gun Rack Pack (Jonatan Gadelius, Blayze Bramwell, Joel Andersson, Jens Bergqvist, Noa Gadelius, Matteus Lestage), Hans Åhlund and Viktor Wiberg.

EXTRA BUTTER INTERVIEW

We sat down with Eric Hörstedt (executive producer) & Kristofer Fahlgren aka Kuske (director/editor/dop) to get the story behind this rad crew and this year's rippin' flick.

What do you think about the line up this year?
Eric: Sick! What's not to like? Kuske and the riders really came through and wrapped it up proper, while I've been fighting typhoons and Chinese liquor overseas... I can dig it.

What kind of cameras do you film with?
Kuske: We have a lot of different cameras that we film with, but for the most part the movie is shot with Panasonic HVX200 and Canon 7D. Rolf got some old fashioned DV-footage too, but quality really doesn't matter as long as it's a good shot. Come to think about it, we also have some 16mm and RED shots up in that motherfucker. Whoever can figure out which shot is the RED and posts here in the comments wins a free t-shirt!
Eric: What he said... big ups to the Pirates for the extra footage!

Where did you film this year?

Kuske: Mostly up in the dirty north of Sweden. But some rail shots are from Stockholm, and we all spent some time in Folgefonna, Norway this summer.
Eric: It's all green screen...

Tell us how the 7th movie compares to the first one you guys made?
Eric: Fuck the clichés, but it's really still the same state of mind... and I hope people can tell that from watching it.

How much weed was smoked in the making of Seven–Up?

Kuske: We're passing one to Jocke on the left hand side...

How much was spent on cameras?
Kuske: We all spent a whole lot more on cameras than the film brings in, I can tell you that for sure.
Eric: Sweden is good when it comes to grinding for project cash...

How many bars were spit on the gondola ride up?
Eric: Like I said in the paper interview... battle us, suckers! Do you spit, Alexis? I think you do when you're bent!

Can you tell us somewhere (give a time) in the movie that someone actually got hurt?
Kuske: Well, Erik Karlsson broke his collarbone, his wrist and his nose all in the same season. But... he still managed to get one of the sickest part in the movie.
Eric: I heard Kenny Powers hurt his nose.

Where do you see the biggest spin?
Kuske: In Folgefonna, Ducksjen rider Petter Kristianssen threw a frontside 14. Pretty impressive. On the same kicker Torstein Horgmo stomped the triple cork a few days earlier. Emil Fossheim sure knows how to build a kicker!

Tell us about the time you were filming some intro stuff with a plastic gun and the cops roll-up...
Kuske: The episode pretty much speaks for itself. Watch it.

Does Haze drop hot shit in your opinion or is that just in the teaser?

Kuske: Haze always drops hot shit, even though it may take him a little while. Hans is without a doubt Sweden's slowest rider.
Eric: Like a Älvsbyn sloth in satin boxers! NH...

Do you guys make a living from this? Does that affect what you guys do?
Kuske: This actually makes living harder for us.

Tell us a funny story:
Kuske: Hans is legen... wait for it.... hairy! And Rolf Nylinder got more coverage fishing than snowboarding.

Tell us a scary story:
Kuske: Joakim Rasmussen at your after party!
Eric: +1 on that. Lock doors, bottles and bags.

Tell us a drunk story:
Kuske: Eric Johansson got a little bit too drunk and decided to go out in the forest to cut down some trees with a chainsaw. NAKED!

Why is their so much less skate in this movie compared to the past?
Eric: Rolf really know hows to blunt up in the ramp, but we're making a separate skate film called 9LIVES with Fredrik, Niklas, Emil and the others... out this spring. Not mixed up now but it all does in the stomach, right?

How did things go down at the premiere in Umea? Did anything funny happen?
Kuske: It was supposed to be our big moment of fame. But neither one of us actually got laid. Bummer.

Do you plan to expand the project next season?

Eric: Yes.

Do you think people will still buy DVDs in 5 years?
Eric: No.

How many of the riders dye their hair darker than it really is?
Kuske: After editing the film I started getting gray hair, but no one dares to admit they dye their hair...

From the Gun Rack Pack we saw flaming ball hair, fence riding and sport puking. These kids are next level delinquents? Did they learn from the older Random Bastards?

Kuske: We all gotta learn from The Gun Rack Pack!

GUN RACK PACK!

Hans is a pretty kooky guy. He fits in well with the Random Bastards, huh?
Kuske: Not really.
Eric: I like Hasse best when he's front row on our Trainspotters shows with a big bottle in the hand, screaming!

Kalle Ohlson was a good surprise, when did y'all realize he was a Random Bastard too?

Kuske: One day before the deadline. It turned out pretty cool...

Victor and his style are gonna start some avalanches this year. Where does he get all that butter?
Kuske: From his new found soulmate, Rolf Nylinder!

How far can the Random Bastard family reach in the future?

Eric: All the way, home run!

Thanks and see you fools around!
