The Jib Days VI Recap and Video

Recap by Alessandro Pellanda and photos by Nicki Antognini

Once again, Gaia Giacomazzi warmly welcomed all the jibber girls for two days of fun in the beautiful Kleinwalsertal. The fickle weather has been once more the object of many prayers over the Austrian sojourn. In fact, the dream of slushy laps and spring tanning seemed further than ever.

Despite the never ceasing rain showers of Saturday, most of the girls have set the park on fire. The finest jibbers, led by a burning desire for riding, have properly slashed the Crystal Ground snowpark. In between wet laps and warm stops at the chill zone area, sprinkles of creativity were shown all along the day.

Fortunately, on Sunday the so-missed sun came back right on time to frame the perfect scenario for the cash for trick session. Finally, after hours of wait, instead of cold raindrops tons of fresh and warm Stance Socks have fallen out of the sky and rewarded the most tenacious riders.

At the end of the day, thanks to a stylish backboard to backtail on the waterfall rail, the local ripper Momo Dudzinski had taken home a relaxing week of surfing offered by Lapoint surf camps in Portugal.

The second position was ensured by Stéphanie Kauert. With impressive consistency on most of the features, the Laax team rider had shown solid skills and got on the podium.

Katja Signer placed on third position and earned some extra money for riding.

For the best non-sponsored girls’ section, Lis Eberle gave some airtime quality to the party and earned herself a brand-new Ride board to enjoy more spring turns on the mountains.
