Innsbruck 7th March 2006

The European Forum Youngblood Final was held March 4th at Kühtai in the perfect K Park with 20 riders from 11 countries taking part all of whom had won a qualifying event.  Judges for the event where Lauri Hesikari and European team riders Tijs Goosesns and Reini Rieser.

With heavy snow many of the riders went to shred the pow before getting the comp going at 11.  Quickly the indoor riders from Holland, Belgium and the UK showed their skills on the rails with Dimi De Jong, Jules Zuidwijk, Britte Van Der Pouw and Emily Riichardson all strong contenders.

In the morning the hip also got sessioned with 11-year-old Jan Scherer from Switzerland rocking some sweet airs.  However Daniel Eek from Norway stole the show clearing the hip with massive backside rodeos fully showing his commitment to win a trip to the states.

After lunch with the kicker open the Finnish contingent of Hanna Laukkanen, Roni Rintala and Petja Piiroinen threw down with Petja winning the under 15 mens with amazing ft7 tail grabs and sw backside 5s.  Meanwhile Peter Konig and Daniel Eek proceeded to drop every trick in the book with Peter focused on style and Daniel on going as big as he possibly could.  Daniel did ft 7, cab 7, cab 5 to backside rodeo on the hip all super clean but Peter came into his own on the kicker and dropped hammers with Backside 7, cab 7 nose, backside 9 (grabbed all the way!), front 5 all with so much style Lauri was nearly falling over himself to find out more about the two riders.

With the hardest decision of the weekend being the winner it was decided to send both Daniel and Peter to the states along with Britte Van Der Pouw and Petja Piiroinen to show we mean business here in Europe and judging by the riders we are sending they better watch out.
