Helly Hansen signs Fisher and Filzmoser

HELLY HANSEN SIGNS FISHER AND FILZMOSER TO INTERNATIONAL TEAM BELLEVUE, Wash. (Nov. 8, 2005) - Helly Hansen delivered the one-two-punch to the snowboard world this week when word leaked that Steve Fisher and Lisa Filzmoser joined its international team. Fisher, a Minnesota native who rides out of Breckenridge, Colo., rips for the U.S. Snowboard  team and is a top contender to make it into the half-pipe comp at the Olympic Games in February. Fisher started riding at the age of 8 out of local resorts in Minnesota, won multiple national events during his teenage years, and has been killing it as a pro since 2000. In addition to Helly, he's sponsored by Head Snowboards, Smith Optics, Swix, Breckenridge, US Snowboarding, MTX Audio, Decade Board Shop. "Steve has been laying edge to snow and going insanely large in half-pipes and parks all over the world over the past few seasons," said Mike Arzt, HH's snowboard sports marketing manager. "And he's one of the nicest guys you'll meet. He's going to bring a new dimension to the team with his style." Filzmoser, 24, out of Dachstein, Austria, is an all around ripper and one of Europe's most recognized female riders. Lately she took first at the Spring Session at Kauntertal and filmed a part with Chunyknit's new film called "Transfer." She's sponsored by Helly, Elan, Nikita, Vans and Smith. "Few women riders charge as hard as Lisa," Arzt said. "She's got an addictive personality and is flawless and fluid on every type of terrain from 20m kickers to rails and deep powder." Fisher and Filzmoser are the latest cogs in HH's global snowboard machine made up of Alessandro Benussi, Erin Valverde, Jussi Tarvainen, Nicolas Droz, Shin Campos, David Melancon and Eric Themel.   For the latest team bios and videos, check out hellyhansen.com.
