Penzberg, 8 September 2006 - K2 is happy to announce that all athletes of the K2 Snowboarding European team have recently renewed their last year's rider contracts for the 2006/07 season! This emphasises the riders' high quality and their good and prolific cooperation with K2.
Last year's new entrant Andy „Mone" Monsberger (AUT) has settled in the team nicely finding the "Zeppelin" the perfect board for his specific needs. We will be able to witness Mone's versatile riding skills in the upcoming Pirates Movie Productions' „Lubedence" and „Boardbagged" videos.
Joining in with the Pirates is Martin Sandberg (SWE) who has recovered from his last year's injury. Not only did he perform impressively during the film shootings but he also won the TTR contest „Absolut Park Spring Battle" in Flachauwinkl (AUT) in April this year, earning him an invitation to the freestyle.ch in Zurich, Switzerland, from 22 to 24 September 2006!
Third in the Pirates' league is Danny Larsen (NOR) who loves to kill street rails and huge kickers just as much as he loves Norwegian black metal music. However, Danny won't refuse to come to a Rolling Stones concert either!
This season, the women-specific Luna board celebrates its tenth anniversary! And Martina Tscharner (SUI) has been part of the K2 team at least just as long. Martina is the only European member of the K2 Women's Alliance to help further develop, inspire and improve K2's women-specific product range!
Like last year, representative of the French snowboarding community, Pacome Allouis (FRA), will have a part in the new movie "Fiasco" of the legendary Psychopit crew. He is also one of the rider blog hosts on the Onboard website!
Last but not least: youngstar Ben Kilner (GB). He has just turned 19 but his passport is definitely getting a lot more stamps than those of his contemporaries. Ben takes part in the FIS tour for the English Skiing and Snowboarding Association and thus, has become the figurehead of British snowboarding.
Naturally, Italy's powerful Rita Comi (ITA) will be riding for K2 in the 2006/07 season again!
