Nate Sheehan is slopestyle king of the Vans cup tahoe!

07.03.2006. Last year he got second, but now he secured the top place on the podium for himself: Nate Sheehan won the slopestyle contest at the 2nd annual Vans Cup in Northstar-At-Tahoe, California (March 3rd-5th, 2006).
Taking US$ 22,000 cash, the American Elan Snowboards International Team rider was stoked with a fair share of the overall prize purse of US$
200,000.

At dreamlike conditions with bluebird and loads of freshies, the Tahoe
slopestyle event again proofed to be one of the outstanding contests of the season. The course began with a flat rail or box option that was followed by two step-down jumps. Two parallel table tops came next which the more daring competitors used as a transfer jump and finishing the run off was the option of either two rails or a box. In the finals the top ten riders had two runs each with only the best one counting. „We saw some good stuff, it was cool!", snowboarding legend and contest judge Jim Rippey stated.

At the men's contest, the decisive obstacle was the transfer gap. Chaz
Guldemond who took third place was killing it with huge backside rodeos
while US Olympic team member, Mason Aguirre stomped a backside 900. With a perfect run and spins to the left, to the right, regular, and switch, Nate Sheehan found himself at the top of the podium taking home top honors and US$ 22,000.
