On 14 December 2013 the snowpark season kicks off at Silvretta Montafon, Vorarlberg’s largest ski area, together
with partner Nike Snowboarding.
Last year the Nike Snowpark Montafon offered a true jibber’s paradise with itsmultifaceted setup, and this winter the shape team has set out an ambitious goal: to build a park that’s even more diversified, creative and innovative. The location on the Grasjoch offers ideal conditions for a variety of different lines. When fully developed the park contains over 40 features, many with multiple riding options. Riders of all abilities will feel welcome here – kids and beginners can find numerous boxes, jibs and small jumps tailored to their ability level; advanced shredders will find features they may recognize from the preseason, like the stairset, the kinked wallride, the large pro kicker, and other toys. New this year: the expanded Medium Line, which has been bolstered with even more kickers.
Special: Funpipe
Great news from Montafon: new terrain has been added to the park layout, meaning an even larger setup than last
year. The playful Funpipe with its shorter walls and numerous curves—well-known from Nike Snake & Hammers
2013—will be ready at the start of the new year. To keep the Nike Snake & Hammers feeling going throughout the
whole season, the top section of the pipe will feature additional banks and waves.
The Freda chairlift (park lift) stretches above the entire length of the snowpark, offering a perfect overview of all the
obstacles so that riders can visualize their next runs. The seven-man shape crew is on the job every day, ensuring
that the park is always in top condition and continually renovated. It’s no wonder that the Nike pros will be showing
up here throughout the season, and so you might find yourself standing next to riders like Ethan Morgan, Jamie
Nicholls or Halldor Helgason on the in-run.
