After six memorable years in Marseille Quiksilver has taken the decision to organise the 2006 edition of the Bowlriders in Europe's newest skatepark 'Stapelbaddsparke' Malmo Sweden.
Also new for 2006 is the chance to win a « wild card » through the BOWLRIDERS QUALIFICATION SERIES all over Europe, Australia and USA.

Malmo (270 000 inhabitants) is located in the south of Sweden only 20 minutes away from Copenhagen Denmark. Malmo is already well known in the skateboarding world for it's fantastic indoor skatepark 'Bryggeriet',
Since 2001 'Bryggeriet' has been working hard to build a new concrete park. With the help of the Malmo city council the project became a reality. The skatepark in Malmo is one of Europe's largest, 2500 square meters. Designed by Stefan Hauser from Oregon, USA. "I'm very happy to be a part of this project. I've been given a lot of freedom and have together with the local skaters created a unique and creative design. This skatepark is one of a kind,
skateboarders will travel from the around the world to Malmo," says Hauser.
Stapelbaddsparken offers endless lines and opportunities. A true work of art blending unique curves and shapes. Perfectly constructed with supersmooth concrete. "There's no end to the tricks and lines that can be made in this park" says Patrik Evander. local hero and skateboarder.
The park was completed in late November 2005, just before the first snow arrived. The local skaters have only been able to skate just a few days and now everybody is waiting for the spring that is just around the corner.

Ever since the creation of the Quiksilver Bowlriders in 1999, the concept and format has pulled together the worlds elite of concrete warriors.
Following 6 great years in Marseille, Quiksilver decided to hold the event in another place of reference in Europe in order to give it a new dimension. Bologna' skatepark (Italy) had been the first option but then, following to logistical constraints, it was decided to hold the final in Malmo, Sweden, another strong contender.
Now in Malmo Sweden, the athletes will have to step it up a notch. Pushing the limits to another level is something Quiksilver strives for. High performance is the future and the Malmo skatepark demands it. Technical, innovative, radical and fun, that's what it's all about.
NEW: The Quiksilver Bowlriders Qualification Series. A search for the best European Bowlriders
This year for the first time ever, Quiksilver will run a qualification Series throughout Europe to discover the best bowlriders and give them a chance to go head to head with the worlds best. The winner of each series will win an all expenses paid trip to Malmo Sweden to compete in the finals. In the past the contest was run on an invite only basis.
