Results from the Frontline Railjam

The Frontline Rail Jam is a completely rider driven, independent event that has grown from a small friendly session to one of the biggest and most core city rail jams around the globe. It's organized by the owners of Frontline clothing Kareem El Rafie and John Uppfeldt. It is fun to see how every year the technical level of snowboarding has been pushed, and every year be amazed by watching never seen before tricks go down on a rail jam.
The whole concept of FL Rail jam is to bring together good friends from around the world and build the perfect setup to ride, have fun and push the limits of urban street rail snowboarding.

Saturday October 4 was the day for the fourth annual Frontline Railjam. In previous years the location for the event was down the stairs of "Sergelstorg", the most central square in downtown Stockholm. Thousands of people gathered to see riders from Sweden, Island, Norway, Canada, Holland, Finland and Austria having fun and push the limit of urban rail riding.

The setup was one double piped down rail and one double piped kink, both around 8 meters (24 feet). You could tell how the riders were feeling the setup as already in the qualifications the standard was set to an unbelievable level. Qualification heats ran with about 12 riders in each and for the finals 11 riders that stood out the most was chosen by the rider judges, Risto Ruokola, Torsti, Andreas Gidlund, Mattias Nyberg and Jonas Karlson.

SKATE JAM
New for this year was a mini mega ramp skate jam with some of the best skateboarders from Sweden such as Kristoffer Hallgren, Björn Holmenäs, Mika Edin and more. They skated out the ramp for 30 minutes, getting rewarded with cash for stomped tricks and in the end Mika Edin came out as winner and snatched the rest of the prize purse of 500 Euros.

FINALS
After the skate jam all the attention was focused to the snow area where the 45 minute Finals went down. The audience was warmed up well by a massive product and sticker toss from Frontline and the event sponsors Skullcandy, Junkyard, Ripcurl, Wäsabergen and DVS.

In the finals the 11 riders where battling for 5.000 Euros in cash and every time they stomped a trick Kareem was in the landing gladly smackin' 50 and 100 euro bills in their hands. This got all the riders pumped and they pushed the riding limit to insanity, while the crowd of thousands where cheering and screaming like crazy.
After a dope 45 minute session it was time for the prize giving as best rider and best trick on each rail got rewarded with the rest of the prize purse.

AFTERPARTY
The infamous FL Railjam After party was held right downtown at "Berns salonger" which is one of Sweden's biggest and most prestigious nightclubs. Berns has a huge concert hall, a big outside patio and 2 more dance floors. This made a huge, epic, playground for the riders and everyone who truly wanted to send the night away.

The party program was a 4 DJ lineup with DJ Sid and Joni Malmi among others, and a legendary live act performance from "Hoffmaestro and Chraa" that blew every one's mind. On top of that movie premieres of Factorfilms new movie "Notes" and Sugarshack's "Pleasure inc". 1200 + people joined the after party with the riders and we all sent the night to the history books. Legendary!
