INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA (January 29, 2006) - Burton has always been on the forefront of Snowboarding to push the sport. It is time to support the Youth and therefore Burton is proud to announce the 2005/2006 Burton AM Tour. The Burton AM Tour includes 18 Slopestyle events in 11 European countries and is open for all girls and boys under 18 years. All young riders out there, this is for you!
Inscription: All girls and boys under 18 years are allowed to enter the Rookie Contests. Riders can register directly at the event but also on www.burton.com/amtour. Maximum amount of riders for each event are 16 girls and 48 guys. There is no starting-fee at the events, and all competitors have the possibility to get reduced lift-tickets at the race office.
Contest Format: The contest will be held in a Jam Session format. The best run counts for the ranking to make the cut to the finals. In the finals the Top 8 girls and the Top 16 guys will have two runs, were the better one counts towards their final score.
Categories at the events:
Kids Girls & Kids Boys - all girls & boys under 14 years
Junior Girls & Junior Boys - all girls from 14 to 17 years
The cool thing about the Burton AM Tour is not only that young riders have a chance to prove what they are able to do, they also will appear on the TTR World Ranking List (valid only for the Junior Boys Category!), that means they are on the same Ranking List with their heroes Shaun White, Nicolas Müller, Heikki Sorsa and many more!
