San Clemente, Ca, August 22, 2006 -
The Flow Team arrived down under to kick off a new season of competition and training. The team has definitely taken on a busy schedule in New Zealand. They are shooting photos for the new 2008 Flow catalog, and they've also participated in the New Zealand Open. Flow riders Scotty Lago, Clair Bidez, Jeremy Thompson, and Mark Anderson, all competed in this contest and achieved some impressive results. Clair pushed the limits while suffering a minor injury and ended up in 7th place in the women's superpipe. Mark Anderson's fight through the competitive field landed him a 16th in the slopestyle. New Flow amateur rider Jeremy Thompson found the superpipe to be his strength finishing in a very impressive12th place. Rounding out the group was Scotty Lago who continued his strong summer riding with a 2nd place finish in slopestyle. Scotty also won the "Best Trick Award" for his backside 1080. Combined with his 3rd place in the Abominable Snow Jam at Mt Hood in July, Scotty is currently ranked 5th in the overall Ticket To Ride standings. Congratulations are in order for a strong showing by all the Flow riders in attendance.
The Flow Team's New Zealand adventure doesn't end here. Antti Autti and Risto Mattila have just completed their Billabong promo tour through Australia and will now be joining Miikka Hast in New Zealand for the next few weeks. They all plan to continue riding and shooting with Flow Team Photographer Ryan Hughes. Ryan will be shooting the team on their new 2008 gear for next season's catalogs. Without a doubt, the rest of their stay will continue to be positive, productive, and action packed. Stay tuned for the final update in September.
Flow Snowboarding also proudly announces the launch of its brand new website. This state-of-the art site showcases the exciting 2006-07 product collection. Some highlights of this year's collection include the amazing new NXT binding series, and the innovative Whiskey X snowboard technology. Other cool features of the website are: downloadable pod casts, screen savers, newsletter sign-up, and an enter-to-win contest for a free Flow set-up including board, boots and bindings.
Also be sure to check out the Myriad and Quantum snowboard series, Flow's award winning Austrian crafted snowboards. Both models were chosen for Transworld Snowboarding's 2007 "Good Wood" awards. Other notable sections are the Flow's ladies specific collection, "No Man's Land" and the "Future" kids Micron product collection. Ladies and kids finally have the best technology Flow has to offer, built specifically for their sizes and needs.
Flow is the originator of the reclining hiback binding. Since the company began in 1995, Flow has been the sales leader of this technology. Over the past ten years, in addition to perfecting the reclining hi-back, Flow introduced its own line of snowboard boots and boards. The boots feature Super Featherweight Construction and are one of the lightest on the market. The boards continue to be selected as award winning designs year after year.
Today Flow is known for performance, comfort and convenience. Most recently, Flow introduced "Triple Threat Technology", a system of boots, boards, and snowboard bindings designed to maximize energy transfer when all three are used together. The advantage of Triple Threat Technology was demonstrated this year with the Flow Pro Team receiving The Best Team, The Best Overall Rider, and The Best Halfpipe Rider awards at the 2006 Transworld Team Challenge.
