Hard tricks, soft landing: BagJump at Kitzsteinhorn

One Big Park / SalzburgerLand presents the BagJump Pro Session at the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park from the 14th to the 17th of December 2009! At this exciting training session, Europe’s best snowboard pros will extend their array of tricks and land innovative manoeuvres on a huge airbag, the BagJump. This new training method enables the snowboarders to push their sport to the next level.

The BagJump is a new tool to exercise freestyle tricks and land jumps safely. This giant multi-chambered airbag is sized 15 x 15 x 3.5 metres and cushions every landing. It allows the athletes to test new tricks and jumps up to 50 metres wide without a risk. Thanks to this new training method, formerly impossible tricks like double cork 1080s are now standard within the half-pipe world class.

Leading riders from all over Europe have been invited to the BagJump Pro Session at Austria’s Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park near Zell am See-Kaprun to improve their skills and to fine-tune their tricks on a huge straight air at this early point of the season. Triple Air & Style champion Stefan Gimpl (AUT), “Ästhetiker“ Chris Kröll (AUT), Marc Swoboda (AUT), Christophe Schmidt (GER) and up-and-coming German Ethan Morgan (GER) as well as many more pro riders have confirmed to come.

The BagJump Pro Session will provide a great show also for the spectators and is only open to the invited pro riders. Just in time for this session, the medium line of the Central Park at the Kitzsteinhorn will open in mid December. Then, many obstacles will move from the Glacier Park down to the Central Park at the lower part of the Sonnenkarbahn at a snow-sure 2,515 metres sea-level. Initially, advanced and pro riders will enjoy 15 rails and kickers there. At the upper part of the Sonnenkarbahn, the Easy Park for beginners and intermediates will open around Christmas.
