Tailgate Alaska Day2

Things kicked off on Friday for the seventh edition of Tailgate Alaska World Freeride Festival. In that time it has grown into the largest backcountry gathering in the world, hosting almost 500 riders from 15 countries. This year, major improvements have been made in terms of the program at base camp, infrastructure and communications, making it the best, most organized Tailgate to date. The blue days have not hurt either - with the first three days of perfect weather, riders have gotten ample opportunity to explore the limitless terrain that surrounds base camp. In addition to some of the most profound baccountry access in the worlds, Tailgate offers participants free snow science classes, basic snowmobile lessons from Ski Doo, nightly speakers and parties, wifi, bathrooms and other amenities not commonly associated with being 35 miles from the closest town. Best. Tailgate. Ever…. Again.
