With blue skies and fresh snow forecast for the Alps, the Vans Family spotted a prime opportunity for a few days of shred between filming, competitions and industry meets. As home to the Vans Penken Park as well as Vans' own Wolle Nyvelt, Austria's Mayrhofen was the destination of choice. As riders and members of the Vans team, friends and family arrived from various corners of the globe, the snow continued to fall.
By evening, skies had cleared and Jamie Lynn, Darrell Mathes, Hana Beaman and Zac Marben had arrived, joining a stella crew already consisting of Arthur Longo, Markus Keller, Cheryl Maas, Will Smith, Kalle Ohlson and Aimee Fuller. The conditions were looking good and with Wolle as their guide, it was set to be an unforgettable trip.
The next couple of days were spent hunting down secret powder stashes, Jamie and Zac jamming on their guitars, hitting the Vans Penken Park and even a session on Äsmo Pow Surfers, designed especially for the occasion and hand shaped by Wolle himself. Even for experienced pros, riding the beautifully crafted Äsmos proved a challenge, as well as a lot fun. Spirits were running high, and it was a great opportunity for the Vans Family to get together, chill a little and check out the forthcoming season's product, which everyone was stoked on.
