Winter Thru Austen Sweetin's Lenses

We caught Austen Sweetin on the chairlift and had a quick chat before we got back to burning turns. Here's what he had to say about some of his earliest memories of snowboarding and how the new season is looking through his Zeal goggles!

What's your first memory of snow?
My first memory on snow is going up skiing when I was 6 and sending it off a jump onto my back. That same day I knew I wanted to ditch the skis and become a boarder!

How about the most epic place you've ridden at?
Alpental, Washington. It's where I grew up riding and will continue to ride my whole life. It's steep and deep with heavy NW snow and full of hidden gems!

Five words that describe winter:
Home, Homies, Life, Fun, Exciting.

How do you continue to see the mountains differently each day and season, keeping the creativity flowing and adding to the stoke?

Ever since I started snowboarding I loved it and always wanted to learn more or find new things on the mountain to hit and I am still the same way. Everyday is different with snow and every year is different in the way things fill in. The search for something new is endless. You just got to keep boarding and not be afraid to try new things or go to new places.
Don't forget to roast your beef, kids! What's on your list of accomplishments to check off this winter and beyond?
I want to learn how to ride more lines and get technical on bigger street spots.

What picture on your phone best describes your love affair with snowboarding? Why?

This photo of my snowboard because when I strap in I know I'm going to have the ride of my life.
What goggles are you going to be looking through this season?
Black Fargo and Maui Level from Zeal. They are both all around great goggles!
