LAAX OPEN is set for 15-20 January 2018

The European Freestyle Snowboarding Mecca that is Laax Resort has announced the dates of the 2018 Laax open. You now have a full five months to work out a way to get there because you really don't want to miss this. See you there.

Winter is coming. Next winter. And with it, the high-class snowboard event the LAAX OPEN. From 15 to 20 January 2018, freestyle fascinate people between the ages of 0 and 100 will celebrate their beloved sport and culture in LAAX, Switzerland, crowned the ‘World’s Best Freestyle Resort’. The sporting highlights will be the finals of the men’s and women’s slopestyle on Friday, 19 January and halfpipe on Saturday, 20 January 2018.

LAAX has been a leading host and organiser of freestyle events for decades. The experience and passion of its people, who form part of the big picture in LAAX, play a key role in ensuring memorable moments and great success. This includes the public, helpers, directors, partners from industry, associations and media, as well as the active riders, newcomers and stars of the snowboarding world.

The Hall of Fame includes Olympic champions Shaun White, Iouri Podladtchikov, Kelly Clark and Jamie Anderson, as well as Ayumu Hirano, Danny Davis, Peetu Piiroinen, Mark McMorris and Ståle Sandbech, along with Enni Rukajärvi, Chloe Kim, Arielle Gold, Christy Prior and Sina Candrian, to name but a few of the LAAX winners on Crap Sogn Gion over the last ten years. And the world’s best keep coming back to LAAX to meet up on the mountain and in the valley to savour the freestyle lifestyle. As for the LAAX OPEN 2018. The flow and surf feeling can already now be found away from the snow. The Urban Surfwave at rocksresort in LAAX has just opened this summer and welcomes everyone on two, four, or more wheels. The Freestyle Academy is also open during the summer.
