The 19-year old rider from Torpo, Norway is seen as one of the most promising up-and-comers in European snowboarding. Having already collected an impressive list of results in his home country, Gjermund has now started to spread his achievements across Europe, most notably his recent 3rd at the 2010 BEO Slopestyle just days after signing with Nike 6.0.
This result has reinforced Gjermund's name amongst the competition heavyweights, and he is now most definitely riding with the pack. The 2008 World Rookie Champion is now setting his sights on maintaining his top ten status within the TTR tour, attending various rounds of the Dew Tour, and receiving invites to the top flight international events.
Gjermund began snowboarding in his backyard at the age of 9, and like so many other successful Scandinavian riders before him, he combined snowboarding with school at the NTG sports college in Geilo, Norway. This heritage, together with his current competitive motivation and strong character, ensure that Gjermund is likely to become one of Europe's next big riders.
