The latest Boardslide Worldwide episode by wonder duo Sean Lucey & Austen Sweetin called "Pour One Out" - This one's a pretty special one! It's full of love and communion and dives deep into the shredding_slash_mourning community of the slushy western part of our snowboard community. High vibes!
"This spring at Boardslide Worldwide, we changed up the pace of our usual spring endeavors, chasing big lines and the last bits of powder. Instead, we chased the sun and slush and tapped into the snowboard community. We started with a road trip down to the eastern Sierras for a sans media split board camping trip, seeking to decompress, disconnect, and connect with the mountains while exploring long fall lines speckled with corn. We then headed to Mammoth to ride the mini pipe and warm up for the World Quarters presented by SLUSH mag. After some big airs in the mini pipe and some not-so-big airs on the world quarter pipe, besides Yuki, he went huge; we started our journey north with our first pit stop and the "Rally for Rocker." It was the 10th annual and our first showing. It snowed almost a foot that weekend, and I was late to sign up, so I dropped 594th, basically last, and enjoyed the ditched-out berms throughout the gully of Donner Summit; it was magical. Then we pinned it north back to the headquarters at Mt Baker, where we tapped into Max Warbington's "Brain Bowl" and the "Sesh Up," spearheaded by Matt "WAINO" Wainehouse. The weather was warm, the snow was soft, and the vibes were high.
The snowboarding community is strong; its roots run deep, and tapping into a community-focused spring was exactly what we needed after a heavy-hearted spring. With the loss of three well-respected members of our community, close friends of ours, we extend our love and deepest condolences to those affected by their passing. This edit is for you. We love you, Jeff, Jason, and Pashley; your legacies will forever live on in our hearts. So with that, whether it's a bubbly or a brew, we ask you to tell your friends you love them and pour one out for those we have lost to the mountains. With love- Boardslide Worldwide." Lucey
