Westbeach Highway 99 Jacket Giveaway

"When I was young growing up in Texas the only white stuff that I had seen fall from the sky was bird crap. I was 4-years old and all I knew when I saw snow fall in my yard for the first time was that I wanted to get in it and I really have to pee! I tried to run out the door in my matching red sweatsuit but my mom lassoed me around the neck like a calf at a rodeo. She waved her big finger of authority in my face. "Not like that mister, you are going to be wet like a fish!" Being from Athens, Greece, she didn't have much knowledge of proper winter attire either. She punched a hole through the top of a trash bag for my head and smaller one for my arms and I was off in the snow, looking like a runaway bag of garbage.

At first It seemed like I was all good and dry. Slowly I started to boil like a pot of spaghetti. No moisture could get in but rivers of sweat started to flow from my back and chest. I was getting exhausted and dehydrated and suddenly the snow became more like a desert. I found myself thirsty and gasping for air, trying to eat Texan snow full of leaves and sticks..."
Poor kid, I know how it feels!
My point is that Westbeach has developed technology way beyond plastic bags! Having a Northwestern perspective, Westbeach knows moisture. If you have ever ridden Whistler or Squamish, you know things can get muggier than a construction worker's crotch in Florida and the snow can start feeling like mashed potatoes after 1 pm (if you're not lucky). What I'm trying to say is, you have a high risk of getting wet and sweaty going snowboarding, so coming up with the perfect equilibrium of waterproofing and breathability has become an art for Westbeach.

Highway 99
is the road the rides up the coast to the mountains in British Columbia so it is a fitting name for a Westbeach jacket that is finely tuned to keep you warm and dry. It is critically seam-sealed with mesh-lined pit zips, ribnit cuffs, a removable powder skirt and a moisture-mesh lining to make sure air can get out but water and moisture are left where they belong, outside! Don't end up with a jacket that feels like a a bag on your head!
The kind people at Westbeach will hook up one of these jackets to the person that can send us the funniest photo of them as kid showing what kind of silly snow suits, wacky one-pieces and/or trash bags their parents made them wear to play in the snow! Post all photos on the Method Mag Facebook fan page before Wednesday Dec 14th at noon(cet)!

Check out the Westbeach Highway 99 Jacket in the Mallard Plaid colorway (ducks know waterproofing!) and the Caprice in Taupe which is basically the girls version of this rad jacket!
