Route One In Japan

Last winter, the Route One snowboard team, The Reason staff photographer James North & DOP Jordan Buck went to the Far East in search of the good stuff and its safe to say, despite some tricky conditions they still scored some of the best turns of their lives.

Japan is a country that is culture rich, so this mission was as much about exploration as it was snowboarding.

After briefly landing in Tokyo, the crew headed straight up to the North Island of Hokkaido to ride the deep snow of Rusutsu and Niseko, before returning south to the ancient city of Kyoto for a quick bit of older Japan. They then hopped on the bullet train back to Tokyo for some mind-blowing madness.

This video encapsulates their amazing journey, from the bright city lights to the magical trees of the mountains.
