Last weekend of march, the participants at the elooa SPLITBOARD EXPLORER CAMP presented by K2 SNOWBOARDING and MARMOT experienced an unique mountain adventure: Splitboard tours with powderruns and overnight stay in expedition tents in the middle of the backcountry.

A great crew of adventurers started on a dreamlike weekend from the starting point in the valley with their expedition geartowards direction Gottesackerplateau. With springlike temperatures and blazing sunshine the base camp had to be set up first. Therfore the participants had to flatten the surface to set up their tents and built a protective barrier against the wind. After a chillout area was built where a cozy log fire spent some heat and dinner plus drinks could be prepared. Equipped with the best expeditiontents and sleepingbags from supplier Marmot, the first night under fascinating starry sky and far away from civilisation could come up.A spectacular sunrise greeted us on saturday morning and the first splitboard tour could start with the newest K2 Splitboards and BCA Avalanche Safety Gear. Multiple runs with perfect powdery conditions were shredded and hiked until everybody came back more than tired to our base camp. Fresh traditional Käsespätzle were made over the log-fire for dinner and another night in the expeditiontents awaited us.

Also sunday started with a breakfast under the warming springsun in the base camp. Subsequent the expeditiontents had to be struck and the gear packed so that the splitboards could be strapped on again. Another awesome day with endless long runs through powder, firn and kicker sections around the Ifen peak followed. Smiling faces came back to the starting point in the valley in the late in the afternoon and recaped this adventures weekend: „Many thanks elooa and Servus until next years Splitboard Explorer Camp!
