On Saturday the 22nd of November 2014, the fourth edition of one of the finest rail jams in Europe returns to The Netherlands. Rock a Rail, organized by The Blanko Foundation, presented by Monster Energy and Lib Tech snowboards, in association with GoPro, Neff and The Uithof & The city of the Hague. Rock A Rail boasts possibly the sickest rail setup ever to be seen for a city competition, anywhere in the world.

Methodmag will be reporting live from the contest at live.method.com

Building on the success of last year’s contest, thousands of spectators are expected to fill the “Grote Markt” in the down town area of The Hague, to witness the jibbers battling it out for the 1000-euro grand prize, or a share of the 3000-euro prize purse.

A custom, one-of-a-kind rail setup will be constructed over a two-storey scaffolding frame, which is built in the heart of the city. Featuring one of the most creative and provocative obstacles imaginable, the possibilities are endless. The setup is to be covered in locally produced, artificial snow.

With international invitees like Forest Bailey(US), Ted Borland(US), Ethan Morgan(GER), Gulli Gudmundsson(ICE) lining up alongside local heroes such as Kas Lemmens and Bob van Unnik, the riders are sure to make the most of the incredible setup and provide an amazing spectacle for the crowds.

The event starts at 16:00, with the final expected around 21:00. An early arrival is recommended for the best view. After the prize giving ceremony, Rock A Rail switches into party mode. The Monster Energy after-party is to be held at “De Supermarkt” (also on the “Grote Markt”).

Rock A Rail is free to attend and the event is intended to introduce urban snowboarding to as wide an audience as possible. The never before seen combination of obstacles provides the perfect opportunity for riders to showcase their unique tricks to keep the hardcore shred fans happy! With photographers and film crews on hand to document the action, the follow-up video edit is sure to be a banger.

The unique setup and rider list guarantees Rock A Rail to be the must-see rail jam in Europe this winter. Anyone near The Hague can come and watch for free and anyone who is unable to attend can follow the event live on Facebook or tune in for the live stream, broadcasted on live.method.tv and rockarail.tv.
