Nokia Lumia presents an epic battle among the best street riders – the DC METAL WARS

LIVE STREAM ON METHODMAG.COM 16:00 (CET) 18:00 Moscow Time

This is something you’ve never seen before! Russia’s best jibbers will show the world what they’ve got, rising up against the strongest international riders. And we’ve got the greatest prize purse in the history of Russian jibbing at stake – prize purse $10 000.

The following international snowboarding stars have already confirmed their participation in the event:

Risto Ruokola [Finland] – the Finnish king, empreror and tzar of the urban spots, who mostly rides with his buddy Fredu Sirvio and makes a lot of input into the snowboard movie-making.

Kareem El Rafi
[Finland] – apart from it being far from the very first visit of Kareem’s to Russia, he is also in charge of the iconic Frontline Rail Jam jibbing contest, which was won by a Russian comrade Denis “Bonus” Leontiev this year.

Wojtek Pawlusiak
[Poland] – not a pole, but a Pole, who became famous by stomping the longest rail spot in the history of jibbing, namely – the 63-step-long monster of a stairs! Now that’s where everyone wants to be at.

The Russian jibbing team has three confirmed contestants at the moment:
Yuri Gavrilov (Chelsea) – the tireless coach and role model for the new and green snowboarding generation, one of the true fathers of hip-hop in Russian snowboarding and one of the headliners of the DC 12 Park project in an indoor winter sports center Snej.COM that launched this fall.

Mikhail Ilyin
(Medved) – a Saint-Petersburg jibbing mascot, one of the major members of the We Are 2012 crew and the rail hipster No.1 in Russia; his riding style is recognisable to anyone who is at least remotely up-to-date with the Russian snowboarding scene!

Denis Leontiev (Bonus) – oh yeah, that’s the one! This year’s winner of the Frontline Rail Jam in Stockholm, the Peoples’ Hero 2011 by the unanimous vote of both the fans and the independent jury according to the Russian Snowboard Awards and the most underground and conspirated rider out of Russia’s top shredders. You should expect to find a complete list of participating riders in the future updates.
The unique DC Metal Spot developed by the FK Ramps folks, as well as the 100 cubic meters of fresh snow, will be an argument strong enough for even the most lazy and antisocial haters to get their arses in gear and head towards the Gorky park, where the show will go on until… well, until it is time to finish, really.
The FK Ramps team has already showcased its creativity and talent by presenting an exceptional structure for the Woody Mood event in the Kirovsk snowcamp in spring 2011. But this time they’ve come up with something totally special for the DC METAL WARS.

Apart from battling over a net sum of 10,000 US dollars, the spectators will find other entertainment onsite!
The visitors are welcome to not only enjoy the mind-boggling tricks performed by the riders, but also to test and play with the new Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 devices in the specially designated demo-zone. The Nokia Lumia is a topnotch embodiment of the Windows Phone OS combined with a leading design and unique Nokia services, including the free navigation service and the free online radio MixRadio that provides access to hundreds of musical channels. Both models start selling in Russia in December. The Nokia Lumia is an ideal choice for those who value speed, performance and the essence of every moment.

You can find more information about Nokia Lumia here, as well as in the official Nokia Conversations blog.
