Volcom’s snowboard contest series, Peanut Butter & Rail Jam is back this winter in Europe with plenty new features and good jib setups. The first European tour stop will take place on Saturday, February 1 in Laax, Switzerland. As always the registration is free and open to all snowboarders from bros to pros. There are 4 divisions to choose from: Girls, 15 and Under, 16-21 and Open.
There will be cash prizes in the Open division, and the best performance over all divisions, at some selected events, wins a trip to the World PBRJ Championships In Mammoth, California ($15,000 prize purse).
About PBRJ:The Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is Volcom’s amateur snowboard contest series. Originally deviating from the established way of running snowboard contests, we came up with a fresh format. Instead of having a rail line, we put the obstacles side-by-side to create a jib zone.
This year we focus on offering fun contest setups for all divisions and age groups, rippable by all as this is the main goal of these events: gather your local snowboard scene around a fun day.The contest runs in a jam format so there are no scheduled runs. You can hit each of the rails as many times as you want during your 20-minute heat. Judges only score tricks you land, so you don’t need to worry about falling. Winners from every division go home with loads of prizes while the Open division winners receive prizes as well as cold hard cash. See you on the hill!
Thanks to NITRO Snowboards and UNION bindings adding to the fun extra prizes at each stop.
