Who Are Ya?! Ivan Gribkov

Things are heating up out East, in case you haven't noticed. More and more legit riding is pouring out of the hills and snowy cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg. The main crew making noise in the Russian Motherland is the WEARE2012 boys (whoa, it is actally 2012!) and one of their main gunners is Ivan Gribkov aka Vanya. We wanted to know what his story was so we asked him, Who are ya? Who are ya?

Who are ya? Who are ya?
Hey, my name is Ivan Gribkov. I'm from Russia, Saint Petersburg! I am 25 years old and I've been riding a snowboard for 6 years.

Who are your people?
It's basically just St. Peterburg flava! It's awesome when all the homies ride together in the park and in the street!

Who are your heroes?
Well, of course my main one is Denis "Bonus" Leontyev. We started to shred with him, he keeps getting better and it will only continue!

Who are your enemies?
At the moment my enemies are whatever interferes with my snowboarding, like work and my shoulder injury which happened last season when we had the trip to Helsinki filming for La Resistance.

Who is your leader?
I'm going to have to give it to VIDEOGRASS!

Who do you trust?
In recent years there are very few people you can trust. Well, just friends and of course myself, haha!

Who is your favorite?
I don't want to name names since there are so many good ones...

Who is your music?
In my playlist there's lots of diverse music, ranging from AC/DC to Lady Gaga, haha. But mostly it's hip-hop.

Who are you scared of?
Freddy Krueger, hahaha, but for real I never gave it much thought.

Who pays your rent?
Work and only work! Snowboard unfortunately doesn't feed you in Russia.

Who will you be in a decade's time?
I don't like to plan for the future! It's so hard to answer this question. I live for today, don't know what will happen tomorrow, but I hope for the best!

Who were you in another life?
Skier and I did not like it so I decided to be born again.

Who should be president?
In Russia, we don't decide. We used to decide who will be president but not anymore because PUTIN IS AN ASSHOLE! :)

Who can you always count on?
The parents and friends. I hope they don't ever turn their backs on me!

Who are the best riders right now?
Shaun White. Hahahaha.

Who would you be if you were a cartoon character?
The first person that comes to mind is Homer Simpson.

Who is the last person you saw in a dream?
Maxim Sibiryakov.

Who would you be if you were a woman?
Dennis Rodman.
