March 5th and 6th snowboard freeriders return to Kanin, Slovenia. Fifth Freeride Battle among the Freeride World Qualifier events.

At the beginning of March the daring off-piste snowboarders will be returning to Mt. Kanin. The highest ski resort in Slovenia above the town of Bovec is connected to Sella Nevea in Italy since last December. On Friday 5th and Saturday 6th the freeriders will battle for the titles of 5th Freeride Battle champions. The Battle is the only event of its kind in Slovenia.

For the first time the riders will also be riding for the points that lead into the world’s strongest freeride series, the Freeride World Tour. Freeride Battle is now on the calendar of Freeride World Qualifier events. This status should attract a stronger field of riders to Kanin.

“The trend in winter sports industry and popular demand among riders made us jump into fifth edition of the Freeride Battle. We are happy to keep our old partners and add some new to keep this event going,” says Jan Maček of organizing team Drča.
