Spark R&D 2020 Surge Pro Splitboard Bindings

The Surge Pro is the stiffer of the two Pro Series bindings and is built for bigger and more aggressive riders. Surge Pro splitboard bindings feature all the same great assets as the standard Surge bindings - T1 technology, Tesla snap ramps, solid baseplates, stiff highbacks, responsive Pillow Line Straps - but they are tuned up with premium materials and custom versions. They use carbon reinforced nylon in the highbacks, full Pebax® plastics for the straps, ladders and adjusters, 7075 aluminum in the heel loops allowing them to make them thinner and lighter, 7 custom made screws and hardware pieces, and lastly, they hollowed out the steel pivot pins to shave off a few more grams.

 How do you improve the best splitboard bindings in the world? You keep all the great technology, but you tune them up with premium materials and custom components.
 The Surge Pro Rip ‘N’ Flip Highbacks are made of Carbon reinforced nylon making them even more responsive, lighter, and stiffer than their standard glass reinforced versions.
 7075 aluminium in the heel loops. 7075 aluminium is extremely strong and is often used for parts in the aircraft and aerospace industries.
 They use full Pebax® plastics in Pillow Line straps, ladders, and adjusters. Pebax® is a premium material most often found in high-end ski boots as it provides consistent stiffness and improved toughness in cold temperatures. It’s also 20% lighter than their standard material.
 Weight savings add up by replacing stainless steel hardware with custom-made 7075 - T6 aluminum hardware. Aluminum parts are 65% lighter than their standard stainless parts.
