During the ARt on Snow from 4 to 12 February 2012 in the Gastein Valley the scales will fall from your eyes and your jaws will drop as you see the exhibitions of Corey Smith, Danny Larsen, Jerome Tanon, Alex Papis and the Loslohbros – you certainly do not want to miss THIS!
Boom! Another big name is listed as artist for the ARt on Snow: Corey Smith, who you probably think of with a board on his feet, is quite active as an artist, too and has been exhibiting his art all over the USA for over ten years. Finally the father of the legendary Spring Break Boards will exclusively bring his works over the pond to the ARt on Snow in the Gastein Valley. Better be there because this guy is far more than “only” snowboarding!
ARt on Snow – the event of many-sidedness!
But the ARt on Snow has much more to offer. With Alex Papis the parade of board rider artists is continuing. The freelance photographer travels around the world in search of unique moments to capture them and present them at the ARt on Snow in February.
The Wildpainting. These 19 wrecked snowboards have been transformed to one big art piece by the Loslohbros alias Tom and Andy Lohner. You can experience in Bad Gastein that these two really are a dab hand at arts. For the first time contemporary artists will enter the “hallowed halls” of the ARt on Snow. Fascination is guaranteed when seeing how these guys treat the material just like wood, paper, canvas, walls and so on!

At the ARt on Snow particular focus is being put on artists and their works. But a special attention is also paid to the visitors – to YOU! All exhibitions as well as numerous side-events like the ARt on Party are free for everybody! Next to the art consumption a very significant part of the event is the exchange between visitors and artists. All artists will be on the ground to answer all sorts of questions concerning their work during the guided tours through the exhibitions. Afterwards there will also be the possibility to exchange with the heros at eased atmosphere. Moreover all artists will have the opportunity to paint live: looking over their shoulders is explicitly welcome!
This concept is successful, what has been proved by bombastic and increasing media coverage in the past. The ARt on Snow brings diverse art to the Alps in a form incomparable to any other. Where else can one enjoy some turns in the snow in the morning, experience international high-quality art in the afternoon, relax during a wellness-session in one of the thermal baths and finish off the day at a cozy wintersport movie night or a decent party?
